Recently stumbled over this alternative mixtape cover for “The Come Up”. This artwork cover is an original for “The Come Up” mixtape Cole passed out at NC A&T Homecoming. He charged everyone a $1 dollar for the mixtape and explains why:
..if someone gives you a CD for free, you’re going to throw that shit out. But if you paid at least a dollar for it you’re going to give it a listen.

Karen Civil’s Words on J.Cole
Karen Civil posted a few words on her blog about J. Cole yesterday
I can’t really explain how proud I am of the homie J. Cole for landing a spot on Jay’s new audio diary. It’s nothing like watching something progress in front of your very own eyes knowing you helped along in the process. Would I like for Cole to release more music on a more constant basis? Sure, but there’s always a method to the madness, so who am I to really complain? The Roc Nation signee jumps over Cassie’s “Must Be Love” and waxes poetics with the smooth, effortless flow which has become his trademark.
Drake Shows J.Cole Love
Drake posted J. Cole’s “Back to the Topic” Freestyle on his blog. Without much of a caption the gesture says alot.
“Rags to Riches” -J. Cole
I recently stumbled upon this track by J. Cole. Apparently this was on “The Come Up” but my version did not have this track and so did a couple of other heads I conversed with. So if you don’t have this track, here you go:
J. Cole Leaks Song “Back to the Topic” Freestyle
J. Cole posted a tweet recently saying he is contemplating about leaking a song. I am more sure that he will only because he has ears waiting to hear something new from him.

J.Cole Works on Another Mixtape?
Cole presumably is working on another mixtape after a statement made during “The Pulse” Interview. After “The Warm Up” being hailed as excellence, Cole will probably out due himself on his next mixtape setting the grounds for his album to be a classic.
“I want my first album to be a classic hands down, no questions asked“
J. Cole Interveiw with “The Pulse”
J. Cole was recently interviewed by Yaya from 98.3 fm. He talked about being places on “The Blueprint 3″, Jay-Z comparisons, his career path, favorite artists and more.
A Little Insight on “A Star is Born”
A Star is Born is the track that J. Cole will be featured on, on Jay Z’s “The Blueprint 3″ album. Though this song will NEVER leak (or any song from “TB3″ for that matter) every little information about it, is always good. While on my Twitter page , a little chat about the song went down between J. Cole’s Manager and Karen Civil. Peep:
J.Cole Performs at “Black Music Fest” (07)
I recently stumbled upon this video dating back to 07 of Cole performing at St. John’s, “Black Music Fest”. He performs “Throw it Up” and “Split You Up” both from “The Come Up”

J. Cole Features on “Attention Deficit”

Wale’s album “Attention Deficit” set to drop Sept 22 and will include a lot of features from K’naan to Jazmine Sullivan and more. Rocnation teams up with on track called Beautiful Bliss which will feature Melanie Fiona and J.Cole . The song is produced by none other than DJ Green Lantern and Mark Rosen. Can’t wait to hear this one and good choice Wale.
J. Cole Makes “The Blueprint 3″!
So it is true and above says it all. J. Cole will be on “The Blueprint 3″ like many hoped for (myself including) on a track titled “A Star is Born”produced by Kanye West. Don’t sit and wait around for any tracks to leak from this album because Jay went to extra precautions to make sure they don’t. Your just going to have to wait until it drops Sept 11, 2009.
Snippet for Light Please and Lost Ones [Video]
Here is a reel of videos directed by BBGUN. Within the many clips there are snippets of J. Cole’s video “Lights Please”. “Lost Ones” couldnt of been a better choice to take to the screen.
“Shook One” Freestyle [Video]
With”Shook Ones” being the most recent J. Cole Freestyle that he has dropped I decided to post up the video of him recording it in the studio. The youtube video was recorded/posted sometime in February 09, but Cole posted a link to this freestyle on his blog April 10, 09. From the clip there was presumably three verses to this “freestyle”. This track was initially intended to be on “The Warm Up” but was cut from the (already long) tracklist of 22.
“J. Cole Leaves his Mark On Philly”
In the words of music writer, JustinTinsley on Gradeacertified.wordpress.com. Tinsley wrote how crazy Cole’s performance was in Philly at The Sneaker Pimps Show (08/08/09). If you haven’t seen videos from the show for your self, get hip and fast! Here’s the actual clipping from his short post:
With all due respect to the rapper/singer/actor from Toronto (who is well on his way to becoming a superstar), J. Cole happens to be my favorite “rookie” from the class of 2009. Last month, I had a chance to meet dude at the D.C. stop of the Sneaker Pimps tour. As evident in his music, Cole is as down to earth and humble as you can get for a rising music sensation. We spoke briefly about our birth states (him being from Fayetteville and me being born in Salisbury) and our tape we released two weeks before “The Warm Up.”
Anywho, Cole recently performed in Philly and from all the texts and tweets I received, he tore the house down. Above is the visual to accommodate my statement. I personally wish nothing but the best for Cole and the entire Dreamville movement as they progress further in their maturation.
